I am a bit of a militant “one bag carry on” traveler and have been looking for some time for the perfect travel shave soap. Don’t get me wrong, the HC&C Shave Stick is definitely not JUST a travel shave soap. It is an awesome daily driver as well, but in one bag minimalist travel size does matter, and large ain’t good here! At $13.50 for the stick plus a 1 oz refill the price is $6.75/oz which on IAMCDB’s price chart is pricey, but if you buy travel size toothpaste you pay triple the price of regular toothpaste. If you purchase Pete’s regular size 5 ounce soaps for $21 you are down to $4.20/oz which is in IAMCDB’s Fair price range. Now to the actual product … WOW, it’s a winner! First couple of uses I used entirely too much product. In fact, just to prove a point I lathered up for a first pass shave, then just added a little water to my face and the residual slickness was plenty for a second pass without additional product. Post shave was exceptional, and a little Witch Hazel was all I needed to complete my shave. I highly recommend this product to anyone for daily use, but especially for anyone who travels a lot. It is great! One hint, Pete said to put refill stick in refrigerator to firm up prior to reloading the stick. I haven’t had to reload yet, but plan on doing this when the time comes. Enjoy your shaves.
