Sweden-based Byredo is known for translating emotions and memories into sensory experiences. Byredo was founded by Ben Gorham. Bal d’Afrique Absolu is based on his father’s travel diaries from his time in Africa, with additional gourmand notes.

This fragrance won two awards in Fragrantica’s 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards, including third best Unisex fragrance. 2.5 million votes were placed by fragrance enthusiasts.
